President Dr Mohamed Muizzu began a four day tour of Noonu Atoll on Monday, visiting all 13 inhabited islands to address community concerns and launch several development projects led by the government.

The President’s Office confirmed that the tour includes stops at Henbadhoo, Holhudhoo, Lhohi, Kudafari, Kendhikulhudhoo, Velidhoo, Manadhoo, Magoodhoo, Maalhendhoo, Maafaru, Miladhoo, Fodhdhoo and Landhoo. During the visit, President Muizzu will meet with island councils and women’s development committees to discuss priorities around infrastructure and socio economic matters. He will also connect directly with residents to understand their needs and well being.

Several projects are being introduced as part of the visit, including the construction of fitness and recreation centres and the setup of new police posts on selected islands. Upgrades to schools and health centres are also scheduled to begin, supporting the government’s wider aim to improve public services throughout the country.

This trip is part of President Muizzu’s ongoing plan to visit every administrative region in the Maldives. The initiative is designed to support decentralised governance through direct discussions with councils at all levels and to promote development that is driven by local needs.
