Maldives President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy met in London to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries. The meeting took place during President Muizzu’s official visit to the United Kingdom.
Their conversation focused on deepening cooperation in several important areas, including fisheries, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and expanding opportunities in education and scholarships. Both leaders also explored new ways to work together across other key sectors.
At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to growing the partnership between the Maldives and the UK.
Diplomatic relations between the two nations were officially established on July 26, 1965.
