Treetop Hospital has successfully wrapped up a two-day community health camp in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, held from May 16 to 17, 2024. The outreach initiative offered medical services to around 400 residents, highlighting the growing need for accessible healthcare in the Maldives' atolls.
A team of eight specialist doctors from Treetop Hospital delivered consultations across various medical fields, including gynecology, orthopedics, ENT, urology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and general surgery. The consultants included Dr. Zakia Ahmed, Dr. Ali Muzni, Dr. Magnus Olof Odqvist, Dr. Chandrashekhar Rawal, Dr. Mehmet Oder, Dr. Anu Agrawal, Dr. Archana Sharma, and Dr. Uktam Abdullaev.
In addition to consultations, the camp featured educational and capacity-building sessions. Dr. Zakia Ahmed led an awareness session focused on gynecological health and fertility management, while nurses from Dhaalu Atoll Hospital received hands-on clinical training to support long-term improvements in patient care.
Treetop Hospital extended its thanks to key partners who played a critical role in the initiative’s success. These include Dhaalu Atoll Hospital, Dhaalu Atoll Council, Kudahuvadhoo Council, and the Kudahuvadhoo Women’s Development Committee. The hospital also acknowledged Manta Air for providing travel support as the official partner of the camp.
With strong turnout and meaningful collaborations, the medical camp has laid important groundwork for future outreach programs. Treetop Hospital reaffirmed its dedication to expanding quality healthcare to even the most remote communities in the Maldives.
