Masjid al-Nabawi’s Imam, Dr Sheikh Salah Al Budair, has urged imams to be strong role models for their communities. Speaking to young khateebs and imams in the Maldives during his official visit, the Sheikh emphasized the critical responsibility religious leaders carry.
He highlighted that imams must be individuals respected and accepted by society, embodying kindness, wisdom, and the highest standards of character. Dr Al Budair advised imams to stay away from any speech or actions that could create division among people.
The Sheikh stressed the importance of religious knowledge, encouraging imams to continually learn and master all aspects of prayer and Islamic teachings. He also called for moderation in leading prayers and a strong commitment to following the Sunnah.
Addressing the growing influence of social media, Dr Al Budair cautioned imams against engaging in topics unrelated to their religious duties. He urged them to remain focused on their responsibilities and follow guidance from relevant authorities.
Dr Al Budair's visit highlights the vital role of imams not only as religious leaders but as examples of unity, wisdom, and dedication in today’s society.
