First Lady Calls for Quranic Values Beyond Recitation

First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has urged the community to match the beauty of Quranic recitation with a sincere commitment to living by its guidance. She made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the Eagles Community's first Quran Competition 1446, held at Thaajuddeen School.

In her address, the First Lady encouraged everyone to pursue excellence in all areas of life, guided by the principles of the Holy Quran. She said that living by these values would lead to personal growth and have a lasting positive impact on the nation.

She also noted the growing popularity of Quran competitions in the Maldives, describing this as a hopeful and uplifting trend. The First Lady said that it was heartening to see children and communities turning to the Quran for guidance, especially at a time when strong values are needed.
Commending the Eagles Community for their continued contributions to social development, she highlighted the importance of community responsibility and collective efforts in building a better society.

The Quran competition was held during the month of Ramadan and was open to students of Thaajuddeen School. A total of 174 students took part in the recitation with text category. At the ceremony, the First Lady awarded prizes to the top three winners.
During the event, the Eagles Community presented a report expressing appreciation for the government’s support of their initiatives. They also shared plans to organise a larger competition in the future, with additional categories including recitation without text and a dedicated category for Hafiz students.
